Introduction Bloodstone (also known as Heliotrope) is a mixed Quartz of Chalcedony and Jasper, found in India, Australia, Brazil, Africa, Italy, Scotland and USA. The dark green parts are Green Jasper and the red is Hematite (Iron Oxide). The spotted red parts of the stone looked like blood stains hence it's name. Historically, magicians from the 1st Century used it as a stone of invisibility. In the 4th Century, people have used it to make rain, Solar Eclipses and in the preservation of health and youth. Christians also associated Bloodstone with Jesus's crucifixion as it is his blood on the stone.
